The Gleeful Dabbler

by Zoe Parker Illustration

Hello, I’m Zoe Parker, a Live Illustrator based in London.

I love to draw people, especially as fashion illustrations I also enjoy drawing fabrics and clothes, jewellery and accessories. My background is in textile design, and so I love textures too, finding inspiration in nature and landscapes.

Why is my website called The Gleeful Dabbler?

It’s a reference to Frida Kahlo who was patronisingly referred to as someone who gleefully dabbles in Art whilst her husband is a master mural painter. Blehh!

It’s also because I take Art seriously, and to differentiate myself from artists with the same name or similar names to me!

Below, you’ll find the services I offer as an illustrator. Please do get in touch and we can discuss your next project.

Wedding and Event Illustration

I love to draw people, to capture their personalities in their posture and their clothing.

I can create a likeness of you and your guests: at a wedding; a party; a prom night; a business conference.

For any special event, a personalised fashion illustration makes a beautiful memento to treasure.

I can create a quick sketch from life or a more detailed illustration from a photograph.

Let’s talk about your next event!

Fashion Illustration

Remember the hey-day of fashion illustration? When drawings graced the covers of all the best magazines, and readers pored over the sumptuous illustrations inside?

You don’t remember? I’m not surprised, it was a long, long time ago.

Perhaps you are tired of seeing only photographs in magazines, or maybe you have already exhausted the limits of AI?

Take a look at my illustrations and let’s talk about bringing back the joy and personality of fashion drawings.

Then it’s time to bring back fashion illustration as it was meant to be!

I explore more about this in my blogs, so please enjoy these and join my campaign to bring illustration back to the forefront of fashion and hail those glorious illustrators who have gone before.

Let’s discuss your next feature to see how illustrations will compliment it- and make a change from using photographs all the time.

Graphic Recording

Graphic Recording is way more fun than a list of bullet points or a document of minutes (hard to believe, I know).

Science agrees* that you’re more likely to refer to the key points and remember them if you have a visual reminder. And if you missed that special meeting, how would you rather catch up? By absorbing a dried-out old agenda and endless AOB, or being stimulated by human-lead pictures, key words and even animations?

I can record the key points of an event or meeting, using traditional or digital means. Let’s talk about your next event!

*The picture superiority effect refers to the phenomenon in which pictures and images are more likely to be remembered than words
